What does the AI studio do?

The official README describes an interactive image and video creation environment. It combines 2D composition, 3D scene staging and model selection. The emphasis is visual control over a composition before generating a result.

For example, if your task is to arrange a scene and turn an image into video, investigate the studio. If your task is to edit layers in an existing image, PhotoCraft is the separate app to investigate.

Choose an entry point

Desktop or browser

The studio’s official download page lists Windows and macOS installers and a browser entry point. The desktop quick start includes signing in.

Source code

Use storytold/artcraft for the AI studio. The creative apps have their own repositories. Review build instructions and the current license in the relevant project.

Free software and AI costs are different

The official pricing page separates access to the software from generation credits and paid plans. It also describes using your own compute or third-party subscriptions. Costs depend on the model and provider you use; read their current terms before generating.

We do not quote promotional prices here because offers, credit allocations and model availability can change. Check the official pricing page at the point of use.

A useful first experiment

  1. Pick a small result. Use one image or a short scene with a clear goal.
  2. Check the provider. Confirm availability, sign-in requirements and generation cost.
  3. Keep your source material. Compare the exported result with what your next editing tool needs.

This is a suggested evaluation workflow, not a report of a completed hands-on test.
